Ms. Sharkey concentrates her practice in the areas of real estate, taxation and business & commercial law. She represents businesses in wide-ranging commercial matters including acquisitions and sales of real estate and businesses, development and leasing. Ms. Sharkey also advises businesses and individuals as to state and federal tax issues. She is licensed as a certified public accountant in Hawaii and California.
She is a former summer clerk to the Honorable Marie N. Milks of the First Circuit Court of Hawaii. She is licensed in the U.S. District Court, District of Hawaii and Central District of California and in State courts in Hawaii and California.
Lauren R. Sharkey is the co-author of the “Doing Business in Hawaii” section of the Doing Business in…Handbook 2008 published by the Practical Law Company (PLC) in association with Lex Mundi.
She is the firm's managing director and a member of its Executive Committee. She currently serves as a Director on the Board of the Hawaii State Bar Association and as Treasurer and on the Budget and Finance Committee of the Hawaii Women’s Legal Foundation. She is a past President for the Hawaii Women Lawyers and currently serves on its Board of Directors. |
